T 2.16 Non-regulated change of users in the case of laptop PCs
With portable PCs such as laptops or notebooks, users are often changed simply by handing the device over to the new user. As a result, it is often not ensured that there is no longer any data requiring protection stored on the device or that the device is not infected with a computer virus. Furthermore, after a while it is impossible to determine who used the portable PC when or who is currently using it. Non-regulated changes of users without scanning memory and without corresponding documentation may therefore restrict the availability of the device and may result in a loss of confidentiality of the residual data still on the hard disk.
