T 2.51 Poor integration of telecommuters into the information flow

Since telecommuters do not work in the organisation everyday, but primarily work from home instead, they have fewer opportunities to participate in a direct exchange of information with supervisors and work colleagues. There is a risk that they will become cut off from what is happening in the organisation and therefore that they will identify less with the organisation.

Furthermore, it cannot be ruled out that the information needed to ensure information security will not reach the telecommuter promptly or that the information received is inadequate due to a poor flow of information. It may be more difficult, for example, to promptly provide telecommuters with reports of computer viruses.
