S 1.35 Pooled storage of portable IT systems

Implementation responsibility: Administrator

If numerous portable IT systems are used (in a mobile manner) in a government agency and/or company and if the users change frequently, it may be appropriate to store the temporarily unused laptops in a pooled storage facility (pool). The premises used for this should meet the requirements described in module S 2.6 Technical infrastructure room.

Furthermore, the power supply of the laptops must be ensured so that the batteries of these devices allow for immediate operation. Additionally, the retrieval and issuance of portable IT systems must be documented.
