S 2.29 PBX operating instructions for users

Initiation responsibility: IT Security Officer, Head of IT, PBX System Manager

Implementation responsibility: Administrator

The documents required to operate the terminal devices (e.g. operating instructions for the telephone) must be made available to the users of the PBX system. In addition to normal operation of the telephone, the user should also above all be able to interpret any warnings (LEDs or pictograms on the display) and acoustic alarm signals (see S 3.12 Informing all staff members about possible PBX warning notices, warning symbols, and acoustic alarm signals).

Review questions:

• Are the users provided with all documents and information required for operating and using the terminal devices?
• Is there a provision for raising the awareness of the users?
