S 3.12 Informing all staff members about possible PBX warning notices, warning symbols, and acoustic alarm signals
Initiation responsibility: PBX System Manager, IT Security Officer, Personnel/Supervisory Board
Implementation responsibility: Administrator, IT Security Officer
All employees should be familiar with the meanings of the warning messages, warning symbols, and acoustic alarms of the PBX. This includes the following in particular:
- warning tone for the direct voice calling mode,
- break-in warning tone,
- hands-free calling indicator,
- indicator for enabled direct voice calling,
- indicator for automatic callback, and
- display/indicator for three-way conference calls.
Since the use of certain, not actually approved features (for example: the silent monitor function) may adversely affect the security, their warning displays and alarms should be known in particular
Review questions:
- Are all users familiar with the warnings, symbols, and acoustic alarms, including their meanings?
